There is nothing like a weekend in Colorado...  There is just so much you can do!  The Bridgewater's made the most out of Memorial Day weekend, that is for sure!!!   Since moving here, I have to say, we have not been the best about taking advantage of the GREAT state that we live in.  I don't know why.  Some of it is there is so much to do that sometimes it is just plain overwhelming, and then there is the whole "touristy" thing, but we have just decided to throw caution to the wind and explore and find some things that we like to do.  We are taking suggestions from friends, family, co workers and 5280 magazine.  Chris spends some of his time traveling around the state for work and has gotten some great ideas.
So, on Memorial Day weekend, we went to Boulder to their Farmer's Market.  They were having some kind of Festival there too, which was just a bonus!  We had a great time walking around looking at all of the fresh produce and food!  We ate lunch at the farmer's market, Emma found a Turkey Leg, Abby and I split a pizza and Chris had food from El Salvador.  It was pretty darn good!  The girls also enjoyed some YUMMY chocolate covered strawberries on a stick.
We also had a great time looking in all the shops in Downtown Boulder!  There is so much to see and we will for sure be going back to spend some time and I am sure $$!
On our way home from Boulder, we stopped at the Butterfly Pavilion.    Emma held "Rosie" one of the many tarantula's at the Pavilion.   We walked around and saw all of the beautiful butterflies!  There are so many!  Did you know that they have turtles in the Butterfly Pavilion?  Do you know why?  The turtles eat the dead butterflies.  Yum, yum.   I even proved that I have the eagle eye of the family, spotting a cocoon that was not supposed to be there.  Chris alerted a volunteer and they took the cocoon to the hatchery.  I received and email yesterday that my little caterpillar turned into a beautiful baby boy Owl butterfly.  I even got naming rights!  He was christened "Hoot".
Sunday, we headed to Colorado Springs to the Founder's Festival.  Unfortunately, there was a big storm, and we were rained out.  After lunch at Applebee's, we decided to take a drive to the mountains.    Why not, we had nothing better to do.  The weather cleared, and we hit a "fork in the road".  We decided to take the road less traveled and saw some of the most beautiful country ever!  We had a fabulous time!
Monday, was our day to get back to the "real world".  We did our grocery shopping, we laundry, picked up the house, and got ready for the week ahead.  We are looking forward to spending more time this summer exploring our state and having a lot more family fun!!

Chewing Noises...

Emma has developed an intolerance.  It is a CRAZY, neurotic, intolerance.  It is something that she will never be able to get away from, unless she moves up to a mountain somewhere and becomes some sort of weird hermit.  (a possibility at this point)  What is this intolerance, you may ask?  CHEWING NOISES.  Are you kidding me.  Everyone chews their food.  We have nice table manners at our house.  We eat with spoons and forks, no one eats with their mouth open or has overly horrid table mannerisms (except for maybe a certain someone who's name starts with E).  Suddenly, my oldest spawn can not stand the slightest sound of any mouth noise.  We must have the radio on during dinner to "soften the noise".  Ok, I am starting to think this is some kind of attention seeking behavior.  Or she needs some kind of psychotherapy?  Or we will need some sort of psychotherapy before she is done with puberty...
